As the final day of Para equestrian events wraps up, the Château de Versailles bids farewell to its Olympic and Paralympic journey.


Nearly a month and a half has passed since the first Olympic event graced the Château de Versailles on July 27. Today, Saturday, September 7, the Para equestrian freestyle events, featuring musical routines, mark the end of an exhilarating summer at Versailles.


The competition venue at the Château de Versailles is truly unique. Set amid lush gardens, far from the hustle of the city, riders and their horses perform in this tranquil setting. While the Paris 2024 Games were marked by enthusiastic crowds, the atmosphere at Versailles was distinct. Supporters adapted to the quiet environment by waving their hands in the air instead of clapping. Between events, they celebrated with cheers, dances, and applause.


Music played a central role today. From classical to contemporary and even original compositions, a diverse array of musical styles resonated throughout Versailles. Some riders added personal flair, like Sweden's Louise Etzner Jakobsson, who performed to ABBA, and France's Alexia Pittier, who chose Charles Aznavour's "For me formidable."
