The Green Bay Packers' chances of making a strong run in 2024 may have suffered a major setback. During their season opener, a 34-29 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil, quarterback Jordan Love appeared to injure his lower leg on the third-to-last play of the game. According to The Athletic, Love will have an MRI once the Packers return to Green Bay. Although an ankle injury has been ruled out, initial tests show that his ACL is intact, per NFL Media. Additional scans will be needed to pinpoint the exact nature of the injury.
The injury occurred as Love was trying to orchestrate a game-winning drive with less than 30 seconds left. While maneuvering through defenders, he was twisted awkwardly before he managed to pass the ball to running back Josh Jacobs. Love, clearly in pain, eventually limped off the field with the help of trainers.
