This marks their third title in the Para Equestrian competition, with team members Fiona Howard (riding Diamond Dunes) and Rebecca Hart (on Floratina) both adding to their Individual gold medals. Roxanne Trunnell, who secured silver in Grade I with Fan Tastico H, also contributed to the team's victory. Howard's remarkable score of 80.000%, the highest individual score of the Paralympics so far, sealed the win for the U.S.
The Netherlands, the reigning World champions, earned silver, while Germany took the bronze.
Italy finished fourth, with host nation France improving on their Tokyo 2020 performance to finish fifth. Great Britain, who had dominated the Team event since 1996, placed sixth.
Sixteen teams gathered at the esplanade near the iconic Palace of Versailles to compete for the Team medals. The stands were alive with fans waving flags and sporting their nation's colors.
Each team, represented by four athletes, saw three selected by their Chef d’Equipe to compete based on their performance in the Individual event and their potential in the Team Para Grand Prix B test.
The competition was tight between the USA, which had dominated the Individual events, and the Netherlands. However, Grade II Individual gold medalist Howard secured the highest score of the day, the only one to surpass the 80 percent mark.
Roxanne Trunnell, who had earned a Grade I Individual silver with Fan Tastico H earlier in the week, and Grade III gold medalist Rebecca Hart, riding Floratina, added scores of 77.000 and 78.567 percent, respectively, clinching the victory for the USA.
